COVID-19 Surcharge Applied - What is this?

During times where it’s business as usual, nearly all international couriers rely heavily on commercial passenger aircraft to compliment the air cargo capacity of their own fleets. As we all know, the times we find ourselves currently in are anything but ‘business as usual’. In fact in the UK alone, 95% of commercial aircraft are now grounded until further notice. All the while, demand for the rapid delivery of goods across the globe is growing.

As resourceful as our suppliers are, they are having to charter additional dedicated aircraft in absence of the passenger aircraft capacity usually available to them. The make this viable, they’ve had little choice but to pass down a share of additional costs incurred.

We are however assured that these additional costs are temporary in nature and will only be in place for as long as is absolutely necessary. These extra costs have been worked into our core pricing. Where you see the “COVID-19 Surcharge Applied” banner, you are looking at the total base price of your quoted consignment. *
